So this is the circuit:

The data are transfer from 1 PCB to another PCB with a connector.
Should the data line attach to a pull up resistor?
Should the data attach any resistor and TVS (protection cuicuit)?
Is this connection correct?

would depend on the kind of outputs the devices sport....whether open collector or equipped with internal pullups etc.

the tvs wouldn't be necessary unless the two devices are at different logic levels.

some more info on the 2 mcu's would help.

Hi sashijoseph, thanks for your reply.

The receiver is a PIC16F727, and the sender im not sure what mcu they are using, because is a ready make electromagnetic module to send out card wiegand data.

May i ask what do you mean by different logic level? Can the data line connect just using 1 wire without any other resistor or protection circuit?

Thanks you.

some devices operate on 3.3v levels, some like your PIC on 5v and some interfaces like RS232 on -12 to +12 volts.

if your sender is only outputting signals to the pic and not receiving any from the pic,you may connect them directly, assuming the sender is using either 3.3v or 5v logic.

do you have a datasheet of the sender or any information....make,brand etc

Thanks sashijoseph. Really learn something from you. Thanks

The sender is EL100-01 OEM Reader Module also operate on 5v.
