Additon Of an appliance To Digital Countdown Timer

Hello Sir ,
I am Third Year Electronics Student .Am makin a project On countdown timer .
My project Guide has asked me to add an application to the existing one .I thought of many like A phone booth Or a simple small satellite launching System but that makes the project too big and complicated as it is meant to be a mini project..Could you please suggest any other applications or modifications ?I appreciate the help a lot!

how bout controlling a water heater or a heating coil in hot case or oven. you can think of a lot of things like that. think more expand your thinking ile
