INTRODUCTION TO .WAV FILE

The .WAV file format is commonly used in PC’s that use the Microsoft Windows operating system. These files are sometimes also used in acoustic experiments. Here we describes how to convert a 16-bit integer sound file to a .WAV file, and explains some of the technical details of the .WAV file construction.

Thank you TPS, its really informative..
so.. if i record a wav file with 8Khz sample rate and 8-bit PCM, is it easy to play on 8051? the only problem is the size..
that is the reason i used Roman Black's BTc algorithm.. but it gives a poor sound quality.. i can still try to optimize it rather..
