Hi friend
nowadays most of the phone work on USB.few days ago i heard abt USB->RS232 converter
cables .So is it possible to interface like this

PHONE->(USB cable->RS232 cable)->(MAX232 IC only Rx,Tx and gnd of DB9)->Microcontroller

will this work ?
i need your suggestion
thank you

well is like this way.. there is an IC called FT232 which directly convert the RS232 to USB.. so no need of any other special converter. Just interface this IC with your micro and then phone.. check its datasheet for more info

i saw that FT232 need some drivers .how will i put that into a computer and moreover i need only Tx,Rx and gnd
and not any control signals.WIll my prevoius idea work?

Will all those AT commands will work in USB interface?

hi
The T230 worked perfectly for all AT commands when interfaced to computer with max232 but it never worked with the microcontroller,.the worst was that the mobile stopped to respond with the computer after
that.now i am returned to ground zero and still dont know what might have happened friend.I approached few service centres they said that the model was very old and they dont have a serial cable to check it.
Can u give me a good idea to solve this problem

well yes your approach was ok too.. but what i told might be a better option coz less hardware.. and they also provide you drivers for IC.. and many other things you must try checking the datasheet and website of the IC.

Regarding your problem.. one thing possibly could be.. mm.. something wrong in the code.. can you attach the code?

Will there be any problem in the software in the phone bcoz of the code.I approached one of the service centres ACCEL (certified SE centre) and they told me that the Motherboard of the phone might have
got affected and they told me i have told to replace the board which costs nearly the amt of the phone friend.I actually interfaced the phone with a controller directly.Even if there has been a high voltage
the internals of the serial port connector would have opened the circuit and would have saved the
motherboard of the phone.
I doing my project at my college lab.the code is in a sys at the lab.anyway i didnt do anything different
intialized for serial communication
Put the string ATD"04423725197";(and also \0d ,which worked during the interface with computer)
in an array and send it byte by byte
thats all and nothing more in that code.
after that it never worked with the System

well i am not completely but can be sure that.. your phone is ok.. and nothing is wrong with the main board. also i would like to recommend you to use datacable just to make the communication safe..
is this "ATD"04423725197" working with PC now?
if yes then you must check your controller code them. please upload the code here.. if possible

what u meant was, to put like this right
PHONE->datacable->max232->CONTROLLER
am I right.i will try to upload the code as soon as possible friend.
