I was hoping someone could help me with a Time Date Generator using the MAX7456 and a micro to drive the Time date. Details for MAX7456 can be found at http://www.maxim-ic.com/appnotes.cfm/an_pk/4184
There used to be a few kits around that did this using a STV5730A which is now obsolete. basically you only had 3 buttons to program the time and date function and it overlayed on the video monitor while you were recording.
Apparently the MAX7456 can do this, but i need help with the Micro to control it.
Thanks
Stu

Hello Stu,
its me again !
i got a sample of the same from Maxim long back, but could not try it bcoz of 3 reasons :
1) couldn't find 27Mhz crystal (odd freq)
2) it comes in a 28 pin TSSOP pkg, which makes it further more difficult to wire and test
3) it has a very large no:of control/command registers which need to be addressed before any data is sent.

thanks again Arun!
I was thinking i could probably overcome 2 of the problems.
i can easily source 27Mhz crystals and would a small pcb converting it from a SMD to the standard DIP package help?
let me know what you think?

i can take care of the third problem, but i would need the other two things for developing code and debugging, can you send it thru postal service to me ?
